Author Guidelines


ENGLISH FRANCA : Academic Journal of English Language and Education is a refereed publication devoted to research articles, reports, and book reviews concerned with the teaching and learning of English as a Foreign Language. This journal dedicated to enhancing and disseminating scholarly work in the field of English Language Teaching and Linguistics. This journal is an academic journal that published twice a year in June and December by the English Study Program of STAIN Curup.

English Franca Journal invites articles that have never been published elsewhere. Please see guidelines and topics of this journal. English Franca Journal is currently accepting manuscripts for publication in Volume 1 No 01 (June) & 2 (December) 2017. Journal Topics are:

Author Guidelines
1. Paper must be submitted online through OJS of English Franca Journal or email Submissions that arrive via mail or e-mail will not be processed for review.
2. Articles submitted should be normally between 5000 and 8000 words (at least 15 pages and not more 25 pages including references, notes, and tables) in length.
3. Only MS Word file is accepted.

• Title
The paper should begin the title should not exceed 12 words. Using Cambria Font, 12 point, 1,5 space, Bold and Centered. The title is not undelined or italicized.
• Name of Author
The paper should write the full name of author (without title), affiliation/ institutions and email using Cambria Font, 12 size, and 1 space.
• Abstract
The abstract of paper is Briefly, clearly, integratedly, completely describes the essence of the whole content of the article in one paragraph. The abstract is limited to 200 words, Cambria Font, 12 point, and 1 space. The abstract consists of three keywords not more.
• Introduction
The Introduction should briefly indicate the objectives of the study, significant of the study and provide enough background information to clarify why the study was undertaken and what hypotheses were tested.
• Literature Review or Theoritical Framework
Literature review should cover all the theories, information, and supporting data from the experts used in this study. The reseacrher also write the previous related study.
• Research Methodology
This part should contain sufficient detail so that all procedures can be repeated. It can be divided into subsections if several methods are describe. the researcher should write research design, subject/ sample, research instruments, techniques for collecting and analyzing the data that used in this study.
• Results
In this section should present clearly the finding of this study and related the results to the theory.
• The discussion section should be as concise as possible and should include a brief statement of the principal findings. A discussion of the findings in light of other published work dealing with the same or closely related subjects, and a statement of the possible significance of the work. Extensive discussion of the literature is discouraged.
• Conclusions and Suggestions
This paper should write the conclusions and suggestions about the finding of this study.
• Short Biography
Author should write short biography in this paper. This biography is not more 100 words and consists of name, institution, and education background.
• References (APA Style)
The references of this paper should be formed by using APA (American Psychological Association) Style 6th Edition (


Submission Preparation Checklist

  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
